It's fun to see Emma Jane's sense of humor developing. As Derrick cleaned out a box of old books from my classroom, he ran across a whole book of cat and dog jokes. This book has become a new treasured favorite of hers. We had to teach her how to deliver a joke. Initially, she only read the first line of the joke and then waited for us to laugh. Now she includes the punchline, too, and gets a much better reaction.
Here's an excerpt from the routine she's working on.
"Where does a cat go when it loses its tail?"
"A retail shop"
"Where does a person go when they lose their knee?"
"A reknee shop"
Like I said, her sense of humor is developing.
